Lâche Pas, an all female trio, plays traditional French music from Southwest Louisiana. Their driving, back-porch style reflects the rhythms and emotions of Cajun and Creole music of long ago. Playing 2-steps, waltzes, twin fiddles tunes, and singing in French, Lâche Pas plays from the heart, the way it was meant to be.
All three members of Lâche Pas moved to Southwest Louisiana from other parts of the country to follow their passion for Cajun and Creole music. Inspired by Dennis McGee, Canray Fontenot, Mitch Reed, Ed Poullard, and the Balfa Brothers, among others, each began playing music as adults in their late 40s or 50s. Soon after making the Lafayette area their home, they were playing regularly in local jam sessions, sitting with the masters and absorbing the rhythms and nuances of the music and culture.
The result? Lâche Pas!
Lâche Pas is Madeline Powers on accordion/fiddle/vocals, Linda Castle on fiddle/vocals and Andrea Rubinstein on guitar.
